Belted Undergarments

After an episode of incontinence, belted undergarments can provide one of the most convenient means to reduce the need to completely change clothing or beds. Belted undergarments, sometimes called belted shields, are essentially large rectangles of absorbent material fitted with two elastic bands on the tops along each side of the waist. The elastic belts are usually secured by buttons for application of new pads or removal of soiled pads. They look like adult diapers when worn, but are not as bulky as full incontinence undergarments and are more comfortable to wear.
