Bedwetting Alarm

A bedwetting alarm is a device that automatically awakens an incontinent person from sleep or alerts a caregiver the moment an adult bedwetting accident happens. The use of a bed wetting alarm is a widely practiced therapeutic method to treat bedwetting, also known as nocturnal enuresis.

Bedwetting alarms are small devices that use a moisture-sensor strategically placed within underwear or built into a special bed pad. When the sensing device or patch detects wetness, it sets off an alarm to rouse the sleeper and prevent further urination from happening. The bed wetting alarm may use vibrating sensations or sound signals.

Bedwetting alarms are primarily designed to train the person with incontinence to wake up just as their muscles begin contracting to initiate urination. The idea is that the sound of the bed wetting alarm prompts the individual to contract their pelvic floor muscles to stop the urine flow until he or she can reach the bathroom.
